Slash is known for his huge guitar collection with more than 100 guitars owned to his name. Those guitars are of different brands and all total they are worth $2 Million (approx).
I myself is a huge Slash fan so I decided to write this post dedicated to the guitars that he uses for various purpose.
Below you find his studio guitars, live guitars, and a list of all his signature models.
So, let’s jump right into it.
What kind of guitar does slash use?
He has many guitars in his collection but he prefers Gibson Les Paul. His main guitars are ‘Slash AFD Guitars’, replicas of the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard built by Kris Derrig, the one that he used in the recording session for GnR’s debut album, “Appetite For Destruction“.
Slash is also seen with other Gibson models like the Firebirds and the Explorers.
Besides Gibson, Slash also played guitars by BC Rich, Jackson, Martin, Fender, Gretsch, and other companies in the past. He even collaborated with some for a signature model.
What Acoustic Guitar Does Slash Use?
Slash mostly uses his Gibson J-45 which is manufactured by Gibson U.S.A. This guitar is fitted with a custom LR Baggs VTC pickup for natural acoustic sound.
He has also other Gibson models and acoustic guitars from other brands like Martin and Guild. Below you will find some of the notable guitars.

Interviewer – Do you collect them?
Slash – I am not actually a collector but I did go through an explosive guitar-buying period in 1991 and I did pick up a lot of instruments at that particular time but as if lately I am not really out in the market.
Wrapping Up
There are lots of other guitars that he used throughout his career that you find here. The guitars that are mentioned above are his main and the most notable ones.
